Explore Morocco in 4 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga with Wonderful Morocco Trips
After breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will start the first day of our desert tour from Marrakech, driving through the High Atlas Mountains where we will pass by the famous Tizi n'Tichka pass and many traditional Berber villages. Then we will reach Ksar Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO world heritage site, considered centuries ago as a passage point for commercial caravans between Sub-Saharan Africa and Marrakech. At the present time it’s a destination for international movies shootings such as Gladiator, Prince of Persia, Lawrence of Arabia, game of thrones season 3 and more others. After lunch we will continue our road passing by Ouarzazate, Skoura valley and Rose valley where you will have a small break, before we reach Dades Valley where you will spend your first night.
After breakfast in your Riad/Kasbah we will start the second day of our Morocco desert tour from Marrakech to Fes with natural scenery of red rocks above the road before arriving to Todgha Gorges where you will enjoy walking between the mountains and next to the river. After lunch we will continue our road passing by many oasis, palm trees and Berber villages before arriving to Merzouga Sahara desert where you will ride your camel to the camp for an overnight in a Berber tent in the middle of the Erg Chebbi Sahara dunes.
The plan of the day will be an adventure to explore the Sahara desert and its golden dunes. It will start by visiting Berber nomads in their tents to have a cup of tea with them and to know more about their way of living. Then we will head to Khamliya village for the Gnaoua heritage music performance. Lunch will be special for today, because you will taste one of the famous local meals which is “Berber Pizza” with Moroccan tea 'Berber Wiskey'. After lunch we will visit the Palm Oases of Hassi Elbid before returning to your Overnight place.
NB: In this day you will have the choice between; spending another night in the desert camp or in a 3/4 stars hotel.
The last day of the 4 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will be driving back to Marrakech. In this day you will wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga Sahara. After breakfast we will start our day driving toward Marrakech passing by many Berber Villages such as Alnif, Nkob, Agdez, and we will stop for lunch break, before reaching Ouarzazate. From Ouarzazate we will drive directly to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains in Tizi n'Tichka pass, and drop you in your Hotel/Riad, hoping you enjoy your Morocco desert tour package.
