Most people know Marrakech for its beautiful old Medina and sprawling souks (markets) filled with intricate handicrafts. However, Marrakech is much more than this. Marrakech is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a rich history and a wealth of attractions for visitors.

In Marrakech, you’ll find it has both an old city and a new city. The old city was founded in the 11th century by the Almoravid Empire and its walls are still intact, today the Medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; while the new part of the town dates back only 50 years or so and is much more modernized with wide streets, large malls, luxury hotels and many other attractions.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in Marrakech. It is home to a number of old tombs and mosques, as well as a beautiful modern movie theater. There are also many restaurants and cafes, as well as a range of parks and gardens.

Marrakech is buzzing with activity, as celebrities and actors from all over the world converge on the city for one reason or another. Some of the most well-known residents of Marrakech include Ryan Gosling, Salma Hayek, and Penélope Cruz, who have all been seen around town recently. Some of the most famous singers to have performed in Marrakech include Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Frédéric Chopin. There are also a lot of football stars who prefer to spend their holidays in the city of Marrakesh, such as Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian international Neymar da Silva Jr, Spanish national Pep Guardiola, Argentina’s football legend, Diego Armando Maradona and French international football player, Kylian Mbappé.
